TDOC provides a cost effective solution for the following:
- Keeping records of information supplied and decisions made during the
construction phase. Information may be shared with the Design Team using
via the Internet (using VPN),
- Maintaining high speed archive management for unlimited numbers of
documents,
- Providing documents to the Facilities Management team, with the
ability to allow updating of As Built records during later refurbishment
and rennovation projects,
- Grouping of documents in a manner suitable for keeping the Health &
Safety file, as well as Operations & Maintenance Manuals.
Compared to other types of systems:
- An EDM System requires extensive rekeying of information to generate
the necessary profiles to allow documents to be located and managed
effectively. EDM is not suitable for managing non electronic records
such as schedules.
- An Internet Portal will hold many documents which are not relevant to
the structure: also there is a substantial monthly cost for keeping the
archive as well as the occasional access charges.
